ABILENE – Abilene Christian plays its first home volleyball match on Tuesday, hosting Texas A&M-Commerce at 6 p.m. in Moody Coliseum.

ACU comes into the contest at 1-1 after knocking off Southland Conference preseason favorite Houston Christian in four sets and losing to Texas Tech in four sets in Tech's Under Armour Challenge.

Texas A&M-Commerce comes in at 1-2 on the season with a win over Texas Southern and setbacks to Missouri State and Texas-San Antonio.

IJ ERA ROCKS: The college head coaching debut of Ijeoma Moronu Alstrup began in style with a 3-1 win over Houston Christian. HCU had pushed Texas Tech to five sets the previous night but was frustrated all day by the Wildcats' defense.

KILLA: ACU got impressive numbers on the attack from
Ashli Edmiston and
Bryley Steinhilber. Edmiston averaged 4.13 kills and Steinhilber contributed 3.13.
Braden Bossier provided solid numbers as well at 2.88.

GUFFY ON THE ASSIST: Madeline Guffy took the bulk of the setter work on the weekend and had big numbers to show for it. Guffy averaged 11.38 assists per game. She also had five aces in the two matches.

DIGGIN' SARA: Sara Carrizales earned a spot on the Under Armour Challenge All-Tournament team with her five digs per set over the weekend. She also had a .972 serve reception percentage. Freshman
Abby Christian had a solid debut in the digs column herself, getting 2.88 per set.
