Marshall, Collier End Season in Regional

SACRAMENTOJack Marshall finished his Abilene Christian career and Nathanial Collier ended his freshman campaign at the NCAA West Regional on Friday.

Marshall, who will spend his graduate year at Texas Tech, finished 18th in the quarterfinals of the men's 200 meters on Friday, coming in at 20.91 seconds.

"Jack made the quarterfinals and has been a steady competitor," said ACU Head Coach Jerrod Cook. "He's also been a great ambassador for our program with his demeanor and performance. You just hate to see it end."

Collier's discus throw of 53.59 meters was eighth in the first round of throwers but finished 34th.

"Nathan had to overcome a lot this season physically so we had to be methodical with our work," Cook said. "For him to get to the regional meet is amazing. He has had a rock-solid mindset and we know he's capable of so much more. I'm excited to see what he does with three years left."

ACU wraps up the West meet on Saturday with 10th-ranked Zoe Burleson in the discus at 3 p.m. Central and Ella Anttila in the triple jump at 8 p.m. Central.
