Ladusau leads ACU to Saturday win over Seattle U

BELLEVUE, Wash. – Veteran Miller Ladusau hit a home run and drove in three in the series finale against Seattle U on Saturday, guiding the ACU baseball team to a win on the final day of the regular season, 6-3. The Wildcats never trailed Saturday, scoring four times in the first three innings and adding an insurance run in the ninth. Austin Glaze and Max Huffling combined for an incredible day on the mound, almost splitting the outs down the middle to close out the season in style.

WAC Standings Implication
- The Wildcats finish the regular season at 16-14 in league play (33-22 overall) and sit in sixth place in the standings, but await the outcomes of today's game, including the California Baptist game against Grand Canyon, to determine what seed they will be in the upcoming conference tournament. Details will be released at a later date and time.

How It Happened
- ACU scored first in all three games this weekend and Saturday was no different. Garrett Williams put the 'Cats on top with an RBI-groundout to plate Logan Britt, then Ladusau drove in the first of his three with a groundout to first. ACU led 2-0 before Seattle U came up to the plate for the first time.
- Maddox Miesse made it 3-0 in the second inning with a solo home run down the left field line and Ladusau followed with another RBI-groundout in the third to blossom the lead to 4-0.
- Seattle U scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth to not only get on the board, but to cut the lead in half. The key at-bat for the 'Cats came in the top of the seventh when Jack Nielsen doubled in Tanner Tweedt to get one of those runs back. ACU led 5-2 at that point, giving itself a little more breathing room.
- The Redhawks answered with one in the home seventh, but Ladusau capped the day with a solo shot in the ninth to bring the score to its eventual final of 6-3.

Stat Pack
- ACU needed just five hits to score its six runs, and five different Wildcats recorded the knocks.
- Ladusau tallied his sixth homer of the season while Miesse recorded his second career blast.
- Ladusau led the way with his three RBI, while Williiams, Miesse, and Nielsen all tallied one each.
- Austin Glaze pitched well in the start, throwing 4.2 innings allowing two runs on five hits with three strikeouts. He then gave way to Max Huffling, who threw the final 4.1 innings, allowing just one run on one hit with three strikeouts. Huffling earned his fourth win of the season.

Beyond the Box Score
- Miesse hit his first home run since his walk-off grand slam to beat Southeast Missouri on Feb. 26.
- Ladusau recorded his first three-RBI game since April 30 at California Baptist.

On Deck
- The WAC Tournament starts on Tuesday, May 23 at Hohokam Stadium in Mesa, Ariz. The opponent and the time are to be determined, and the games all week will air on ESPN+.
