ABILENE – The Abilene Christian women's basketball team wraps up a busy week that encompassed four games in an eight-day stretch with a home game on Thursday, Feb. 9 against California Baptist and a road date at UTRGV on Saturday, Feb. 11. ACU (11-11, 5-6 WAC) snapped its three-game losing streak with a win on Monday over Utah Valley, and looks to build a winning streak back up in league play with two tough matchups. Thursday's game tips at 6 p.m. for the Purple Game, and the team will leave early the next day for a 4 p.m. Saturday game at UTRGV. Both games will air on ESPN+, and Thursday night's game will also air on the ACU Sports Network.

  • BOUNCE-BACK WIN AFTER SATURDAY'S LOSS
    • ACU fell to SFA this past Saturday, but bounced back in a big way with a 73-46 win over Utah Valley. Addison Martin led the way with 20 points, and Bella Earle and Maleeah Langstaff each tallied 11. ACU dominated on the glass, 47-23, and never trailed in the game to get back to 1-1 at home this week.
  • THE WILDCATS ARE SUCCESSFUL WHEN…

  • MILLER TIME
    • Fifth-year senior Madi Miller eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau with a 20-point game against Utah Valley on Jan. 14, and the veteran now has scored 1,050 points to go with 175 three-pointers made, 453 rebounds, 334 assists, and 147 steals. She has played in more games than anyone in ACU’s entire history (139) as well. Miller is second on the team with 12.0 points per game this season and is shooting 42% from the floor.
  • MAL’S PLACE
    • Fifth-year transfer Maleeah Langstaff has scored in double figures in five straight games, and averaging 12.0 points per game during that stretch. Langstaff has 15 games this year with at least five rebounds, has 18 double-digit scoring game on the season and 54 in her career. She currently has 15 career double-doubles as well.
  • ADDI-BALL
    • Redshirt freshman Addison Martin put together her first career double-double at Grand Canyon, then backed it up with a 20-point game against Utah Valley. Martin has played in no less than 3- minutes in five consecutive games, and is averaging 11.4 points per game on 55% shooting from the floor.
  • CAREER MILESTONE WATCH
    • 1,000-Point Club: Aspen Thornton - 837 points
      • 150-Steal Club: Madi Miller - 147 steals

  • COACH GOODENOUGH’S MILESTONES
    • Head coach Julie Goodenough will coach her 830th career game on Thursday, and has earned 499 career victories, including 210 as the coach at ACU. Goodenough is in her 29th season overall and her 11th with the Wildcats.

SCOUTING CALIFORNIA BAPTIST (11-11, 7-4 WAC)

  • The Lancers had a tough home weekend, falling to NM State and Sam Houston in Riverside by a combined five points. NM State topped CBU 62-61 before Sam Houston went out west and left with a 66-62 win.
  • Preseason all-WAC selection and last year's all-WAC player Trinity San Antonio paces the Lancers with 14.7 points per game, while freshman phenom Grace Schmidt is scoring 13.4 points per night. Dorcas Wu (10.9 ppg) and Chloe Webb (10.0 ppg) are the other two in double figures.

SCOUTING UTRGV (8-13, 2-8 WAC)

  • The Vaqueros are coming off a home split with a win over Utah Tech on Thursday and a loss on Saturday to Southern Utah. UTRGV heads to SFA on Thursday before hosting ACU on Saturday.
  • Iyana Dorsey is having a remarkable season, scoring 15.7 points per game, while Deborah Ogayemi (10.2 ppg) and Mele Kailahi (10.0 ppg) round out the lineup in double figures.
