FORT WORTH – Abilene Christian got 20 points from
Bella Earle and 12 from
Payton Hull but Texas Christian stayed unbeaten on the season with a 77-60 win over the Wildcats on Tuesday.
The Cats found themselves down 26-4 late in the first quarter and the Frogs led 33-12 with 7:40 left in the half before ACU sprang to life.
Kenadi Rising scored all eight of her points and Earle added six in a 19-2 ACU run that saw the Wildcats close the gap to 37-33 late in the second quarter.
TCU rebuilt the lead to 12 points by the end of the third quarter and ended with the 17-point win, though ACU was able to get within nine early in the fourth quarter.
Earle led the Wildcats with her 20 points on 7 of 12 shooting and paced ACU with nine rebounds. She and Hull had two three-pointers each, as did Rising.
Addison Martin finished with eight points and four rebounds and shared the assist lead at three with
Emma Troxell. Martin also had three steals.
National three-point leader Madison Conner had 29 points with nine more three-pointers while Sedona Price had a double-double with 24 points and 10 blocked shots.
ACU returns to action on Monday when they host McMurry at 6 p.m.
