ABILENE – Sophomore
Chayse Thorn scored once again, the defense held the visitors to just one goal, but Mother Nature then took over in the 77th minute, and the ACU soccer team tied Louisiana, 1-1, at Elmer Gray Stadium. During what seamed to be a picturesque day in Abilene, the clouds immediately took over to the east and lightning struck to close to the stadium. The game was in a delay, and then due to time constraints, did not resume in time before it had to be called. The teams played the minimum 70 minutes for the game to count, and it was called at a 1-1 tie.
"[It was a] disappointing way to end the game today with the weather, but there were a lot of good things to take away from this game," said head coach
Casey Wilson. "UL is a solid team and we felt it was a very good battle overall. Now we are ready to focus on next week."
It capped off a strange week for the 'Cats. ACU was supposed to play Prairie View A&M on Friday, Sept. 2, but that game got moved back a week to Sept. 9. ACU played in just 77 o the expected 180 minutes this weekend, but the focus now moves to next week.

Brennan Reuland sent a perfect pass from the middle towards the left side of the field. Thorn grabbed it right on the edge of the box, and placed it perfectly from left to right for the score, her third of the season.
- 20' | Louisiana's Karleen Bedre scored on a header after a throw in and a cross pass from her teammates.
The Numbers
- ACU trailed 13-8 in shot attempts, including 4-2 in shots on goal.
- The score was Thorn's third of the season, and the assist was Reuland's first of the year.

- The Wildcats will stay in Abilene this week as they prep for now two games next weekend. ACU hosts Prairie View A&M on Friday, Sept. 9 at 7 p.m. before hosting Senior Day on Sunday, Sept. 11 at 1 p.m. against Texas Southern. Both games will air on WAC International.
