ABILENE, Texas—The freshmen for the Wildcats stepped up in a big way on Thursday night as
Ashli Edmiston led the team in kills and
Sara Carrizales led the team in digs. After dropping the opening set, 25-23, the team bounced back to even the match at a set each. After falling behind 2-1 when the Mavericks took set three, ACU came out and took a 4-0 lead in set four. Despite the early lead, the Wildcats dropped set four to fall to 1-1 in WAC play.

- Edmiston just missed a double-double with 15 kills and nine digs on the night. She continues to lead the team in kills per set (2.55) and points per set (2.99)
- Carrizales led the Wildcats with 22 digs, the only Wildcats to register double digit digs.
- Bryley Steinhilber and Brea Box each tallied 10 kills with box hitting .421 on the night to lead the team.
- The team hit .333 in the second set, a match-high.
