Eager, Tatrow homer in Game 2 vs. Lamar

ABILENE, Texas – After another weather delay in this weekend's home series vs. Lamar, Colton Eager and Grayson Tatrow both hit home runs, but it wasn't enough to best the Cardinals in game two as Lamar was victorious by a final score of 9-5.

How It Happened
- After another weather delay that pushed the start time back 45 minutes, both teams were held scoreless in the first two frames.
- The Cardinals were able to break the 0-0 tie after a lead off walk to Kevin Bermudez came in to score on a RBI single from Matthew McDonald. Lamar led 1-0 after the 3rd.
- ACU was able to answer, getting their first hit of the game in the bottom of the 4th, a solo Homerun from Colton Eager. Eager's 9th of the year which made it 1-1.
- The Wildcats kept the momentum going in the bottom of the 4th with back to back singles from Tanner Tweedt and Miller Ladusau. Tommy Cruz walked to load the bases and with two out Bash Randle came through with an RBI infield single, giving ACU the lead 2-1 going into the 5th.
- Lamar was able to answer in the top of the 5th with an RBI infield single Chase Kemp, tying it back up at 2 to 2.
- Kemp would come around to score and break the tie later in the top of the 5th on an RBI double from Kelby Weyler. It was 3-2 Lamar going into the bottom of the 5th.
- Bermudez extended the Cardinals lead in the top of the 6th with a one out two RBI triple down the left field line. Bermudez later came in to score on a wild pitch making it 6-2 in favor of the Cardinals going into the bottom of the 6th.
- Lamar extended the lead in the top of the 7th when Josh Blankenship hit his second Homerun of the series making it 8-2 heading into the 7th inning stretch.
Grayson Tatrow answered Blankenship's two run Homerun with one of his own in the bottom of the 7th, cutting Lamar's lead to 8-4 going into the 8th.
- In the final frame Lamar added another run in the top half of the inning and ACU was able to score one when Colton Eager drove in Grayson Tatrow but it wasn't enough as Lamar was able to take the series with the 9 to 5 victory
