HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Wildcats season came to a close on Thursday night as they fell, 3-1, to Seattle in an elimination game of the WAC Tournament.
Sidney Holman-Mansell had a solid outing in the circle with eight strikeouts but the Wildcats couldn't get going at the plate.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Seattle pushed a run across in the bottom of the first to take the early 1-0 lead.
- The Wildcats answered in the top of the fourth with a Calie Burris single to lead off the inning. Isabel Martinez would score as a pinch runner after Avery Miloch reached third on an error in left field.
- The Redhawks would retake the lead in the bottom of the fourth behind an RBI triple and add an insurance run on a throwing error to go up 3-1.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE:
- Holman-Mansell's eight strikeouts brought her season total to 157.
- Calie Burris reached base in twice for the Wildcats with a single and another walk to bring her career total to 64.
- The Wildcats finish the season at 25-26 for their most wins since the team went 23-26 in 2018.
