Ladusau tallies three hits on Military Appreciation Night

ABILENE – Sophomore Miller Ladusau led the way with three hits, Grayson Tatrow homered, but the ACU baseball team dropped a 9-4 decision to the United State Air Force Academy at Crutcher Scott Field on Tuesday night. The Wildcats (15-13) honored the Dyess Air Force in Abilene at The Crutch, and in honor of the Air Force, hosted a pre-game flyover from the B-1 Lancer from the 7th Bomb Wing. Col. Kevin Kippie threw out the ceremonial first pitch, and the Dyess AFB Color Guard brought out the colors prior to the game. It was a historic, beautiful night in Abielne to honor our heroes. Air Force (11-15) led the entire way and tallied 12 hits in the win for the Falcons.

How It Happened
- Air Force struck first with a run in the top of the first inning off a throwing error, and would add another in the top of the second with an rbi-groundout. AFA led 2-0 after an inning and a half.
- ACU got a run back in the home second when Ladusau singled to right center to score Bash Randle, who doubled the pitch prior to right field. ACU trailed 2-1 after two.
- Air Force homered in the third, singled in a run in the fifth, and put up a four-spot in the sixth to push the lead to 9-1.
- Bryson Hill was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth to bring home ACU's second run of the night.
- Tatrow roped a two-run homer to right center in the bottom of the ninth to bring the final tally to 9-4.

Stat Pack
- Tatrow launched his team-high eighth homer of the year, and finished with two runs scored as well.
- Ladusau led ACU with three hits, and drove in one.
- Garrett Egli took the loss, throwing 2.1 innings, allowing three earned on seven hits with a pair of strikeouts.
- Adam Byrd tallied two strikeouts from the bullpen.
- Sam Grace struck out four Air Force batters in relief.

Beyond the Box Score
- Ladusau's three hits match a season-high; he has now accomplished that feat four times this season, and Tuesday was the first time since his three knocks March 20 against SFA.
- Four of Tatrow's eight home runs this year are two-run shots. He also has three solo shots and one three-run blast.

Up Next
- The six-game home stand continues on Wednesday with first pitch between ACU and Air Force slated for 3:05 p.m. The game airs on 102.7 The Bear and the WAC Digital Network.
