ABILENE, Texas — In a battle down to the last possession, the Wildcats pulled out a 61-56 win over Tarleton to secure their fourth-straight 20-win regular season as well as the sixth seed in next week's WAC Tournament.
Key Plays
- A low-scoring game early, an Immanuel Allen three at the 12:44 mark of the first half gave the Wildcats a 12-6 lead.
- Ja'Sean Jackson hit an open three at the top of the key to push the Wildcats lead to seven with just under six minutes to play in the first half.
- Reggie Miller scored on a crafty back cut with just a few seconds left in the first half to give the Wildcats a three-point halftime advantage.
- After Tarleton took a one-point lead just a couple minutes into the second half, Damien Daniels and Coryon Mason hit back-to-back jumpers to put the Wildcats back up by three.
- Mahki Morris got a steal and a three in transition with six minutes to play to put the Wildcats up by 10.
- The very next play Tobias Cameron got a steal and scored in transition to push the lead to 12.
- Tarleton chipped away at the lead and had a chance to tie the game with a last-second three, but Steele rebounded the miss and iced the game at the free throw line.

- Mahki Morris put up his second 18-point night of the week, shooting 50 percent from the field and going 7-8 at the free throw line.
- Damien Daniels totaled four steals on the night and now has 11-straight games with multiple steals.
- The Wildcats won the turnover battle, 23-13, and scored 26 points off of the Tarleton turnovers.
- Airion Simmons and Immanuel Allen each went for eight points in the game.
- The Wildcats also had the advantage in points in the paint, 26-20, and fast break points, 15-4.
- This was the final game to be played in the Teague Center, the Wildcats temporary home while Moody Coliseum undergoes renovations.
