Tatrow and Hill leads ACU's offense in Sunday's finale

ABILENE – Junior Grayson Tatrow drove in four runs, fellow junior Bryson Hill launched a two-run home run, but the ACU baseball team fell in the series finale on Sunday at Crutcher Scott Field to 2021 NCAA Regional qualifier North Dakota State, 10-7. The Wildcats (1-3) fought back from early deficits of 4-0 and 7-4 to tie the game in both instances, but left the tying runs on base in the ninth to drop the final game of the series. ACU had its best offensive day of the young season, scoring seven times on 10 hits, and drawing eight walks.

How It Happened
- ACU had leads early in the first two games of the series, but for the second straight game it was NDSU who jumped in front. The Bison scored three in the first off starter Genner Cervantes, and added another in the second to led 4-0.
- The 'Cats responded beautifully with a four-spot in the home second. Miller Ladusau doubled into left center field to get ACU on the board, scoring Bash Randle in the process.
- In stepped Bryson Hill. The third baseman launched a high fly ball into left center, just getting over the wall for an opposite field two-run shot to get ACU within one, 4-3.
- Tatrow was then clutch with a two-out single through the left side with the shift on to plate Aaron Staehely, and the game was reset at 4-4.
- NDSU responded with a three-run third immediately off reliever Riley Bauman, who took over for Cervantes. ACU found itself down again, but would come back.
- Tatrow came through again, this time after Staehely and Mitchell Dickson walked. NDSU met at the mound to discuss Tatrow, and the lefty delivered with a high fly down the left field line that just got over the wall to tie the game, 7-7.
- NDSU scored in the sixth, eighth, and ninth to lead 10-7.
- ACU left the bases loaded in the ninth, falling by three.

- Tatrow drove in four run, and launched his first home run of the 2022 campaign.
