PHOENIX Stevie Smith scored a career-high 14 points off the bench for the Wildcats as they dropped a tough road game at Grand Canyon. The Lopes shot 63 percent from the field and 50 percent from behind the arc to hand the Wildcats a lopsided loss. GCU moves to 4-0 in WAC play while the Wildcats drop to 2-3 in conference action.

Key Plays

  • A three from Mahki Morris gave ACU an early 8-5 lead.
  • An 8-0 run from GCU erased a four-point ACU lead to put the Lopes up by four.
  • Coryon Mason picked off a GCU pass and made the layup at the other end to cut into a seven-point GCU lead.
  • After a three from Cameron Steele cut the Lopes lead to five, GCU answered with another 8-0 run to push their lead to 13.
