ABILENE – Senior
Eric Wimpee had the longest outing of his career on the mound Friday, tossing 3.2 innings of scoreless ball in relief against the UIW Cardinals. Five different Wildcats reached base, but ACU (19-17, 10-11 SLC) fell in a seven-inning run-rule to UIW (14-19, 10-15 SLC). An eight-run second inning was the difference in the game for the visitors.
Grayson Tatrow scored the lone run for the 'Cats.
Tyler Morgan lasted just 2.2 innings, allowing 10 runs on seven hits including a grand slam in the second to make it an 8-0 UIW lead.
Connor Carlton then finished the third inning and was only able to get one out in the fourth before Wimpee took over. The Rockwall native allowed just the one hit in his outing as well.
