NEW ORLEANS— After a tough loss in four at Southeastern Louisiana, the Wildcats earned the huge bounce back win at UNO Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats moved to 5-3 in Southland play and sit at sixth in the standings.
ACU dominated early with a 25-14 first set, including going on a 21-8 run after falling behind 6-4. The team hit .400 in the set and three different players each registered three kills in the set. ACU followed up the first set with another outstanding offensive display as they hit .316 in set two on their way to a dominant 2-0 lead in the match. UNO, who is without their starting setter, put together a solid third set to claim the 25-22 victory and kept the match alive. Set four was back and forth for most of the way, but the Privateers held the 23-19 advantage late. A kill from
Breanna Box gave the serve back to ACU and the team cut the UNO lead to two on an error from the Privateers. Down two with the match on the line,
Mackenzie Harris ran off three-straight aces to take the one-point lead. UNO would tie the set at 24, but a kill from
Katelyn Mueller followed by another ace, this time from
Madison Rohre, secured the four-set win for the Wildcats.
