Wildcats sweep Lamar with dominant offensive performance

ABILENE, Texas— ACU put together their best offensive performance, and most complete match of the season on Saturday afternoon to earn the 3-0 sweep of Lamar. The Wildcats dominated the match from the first serve, and earned the 25-11 set one win. While the Cardinals held a lead through most of the second set, ACU used a 7-1 run to take their first lead of the set and come away with the 25-20. The Wildcats jumped out to a 7-3 lead in set one and didn't look back as they cruised to a 25-17 lead for the sweep.

  • Katelyn Mueller led the way with 16 kills for ACU, which is the third most kills in a three-set match in ACU's DI history.
  • Lindsey Toney notched eight kills on a .667 hitting percentage with no errors to put up the most efficient offensive performance for the Wildcats this season.
  • The Wildcats put up a dominant block totaling nine on the afternoon. Breanna Box led the way with seven block assists and Toney added five.
  • ACU won the battle at the service line with seven aces to just one for Lamar, Mackenzie Harris led the team with four.
  • Harris also put together her best defensive outing with 18 digs to average six digs per set.
