MBB hosts Howard Payne Sunday afternoon

ABILENE, Texas - The Wildcats welcome the Yellow Jackets from Howard Payne on Sunday afternoon for the second game of a doubleheader. A series that dates back to the 1921-22, this will be the 116th meeting between the programs. The Wildcats are coming off of a tough win on Wednesday night over CSU Bakersfield and will look for the eighth-straight win on Sunday.

ACU Storylines

• ACU moved to 7-2 on the season with a win over CSUB and have won seven-straight, including six-straight in the Teague Center. The 10-point win over the Roadrunners was the smallest margin of victory the Wildcats have had in Teague.
• The Wildcats have nine players averaging five or more points per game with both Coryon Mason (12.9) and Mahki Morris (10.9) averaging double figures. 
• The team leads the NCAA in turnovers forced per game (23.22) and have forced 20 or more turnovers in seven of their nine contests.
• ACU has four players who have 13 or more steals on the season and seven who have at least eight steals on the year. Damien Daniels and Airion Simmons lead the team with 16 each. 

Scouting the Yellow Jackets

• Howard Payne comes into the game with a 3-8 record and will play a game later this afternoon before getting to the Teague Center tomorrow. The team started the season 2-0 and earned their last win, 67-59, over Sul Ross State.
• HPU has four players averaging double-digit scoring with Michael House leading the team at 14.1 ppg. 
• Frederick Watts is averaging nearly a double-double for the Jackets with 12.5 ppg and 9.4 rpg.
