ABILENE, Texas — The Wildcats picked up where they left off last Saturday with another solid defensive performance to get a double-digit win over Drexel, 73-56. Abilene Christian moved to 6-2 on the season and 5-0 at home to remain undefeated in the Teague Center.
Coryon Mason led all scorers with 21 on the night shooting 7-9 from the field.
Key Plays
- Once again, the Wildcats used defense to get their offense going early with a steal and score from Airion Simmons.
- Coryon Mason found Cameron Steele on the wing for a three that gave the Wildcats a 7-4 lead and they would hold the lead the rest of the way.
- Immanuel Allen hit a three at the 14:38 mark in the first half that started a 9-0 run for ACU.
- Mason converted a crucial three-point play with just over five minutes to play in the first half that kept Drexel at by.
- With just four seconds left in the half, Damien Daniels took the ball the length of the floor and found Mahki Morris for a mid-range jumper to give ACU the 13-point halftime lead.
- Mason hit back-to-back threes two minutes into the second half that pushed ACU's lead to 19 points.
- Yuot Gai gave the Wildcats their largest lead of 24 points with a layup after an offensive board with 15 minutes left in the game.
- Morris hit two threes down the stretch and Reggie Miller hit a tough jumper in the paint as the Wildcats always had an answer for any Drexel attempt to get back in the game.

- Mason's 21 points ties a career and season-high and his four made threes were a career-high for a single game.
- The Wildcats hot shooting slowed some, breaking their four-game streak of shooting 50 percent or higher from the field, with the team shooting 41 percent on the night. They did stay hot from three shooting 40 percent from distance.
- ACU held Drexel to season lows in scoring, field goal percentage and three-point percentage. This was the first time all season the Dragons shot below 40 percent in a game.
