Jones' five shots pace 'Cats in Chicago

CHICAGO – Junior Natalie Jones led the way with five shot attempts, but the Abilene Christian soccer team fell to Chicago State Saturday afternoon, 1-0. Despite a 15-5 lead in shot attempts, ACU (4-7-1, 2-3-1 WAC) could not overcome the lone goal in the first half. The Wildcats still sit with seven points in the WAC standings heading into the final two weeks.

The Goal
- 26' | Jayla Gage scored her third goal of the season for the only score of the game.

The Numbers 
- ACU held a 15-5 lead in shot attempts, but Chicago State led 5-4 in shots placed on frame.
- Lily Foster recorded four saves in net, giving her 62 for the season.
- ACU led 13-1 in corner kicks, their largest total of the year.
- Jones' five shot attempts led the way, and she placed three on frame, also a team-high.
- Ellen Joss and Chayse Thorn each tallied two shot attempts in the game.

Up Next 
- The Wildcats head back home for a pair of games at Elmer Gray Stadium, their final two of the regular season at home. ACU hosts Sam Houston on Friday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. before wrapping the weekend with SFA on Sunday, Oct. 24 at 1 p.m. Both games will air on ESPN+.
