ABILENE, Texas — The Wildcats earned a massive win over the Lumberjacks on Wednesday night to remain undefeated in Teague on the season. After a back-and-forth first half and turnovers troubles to start the second half, ACU was able to use a 16-3 run to create separation and take hold of the game. The team locked in defensively late, but they also took care of the ball, going the final 13 minutes without committing a turnover. The Wildcats offense kicked up late as well as they put up 46 second half points and ran away with an 82-62 win.
Southland Significance
ACU moves to 5-1 in conference play which puts them in a tied for third with SFA. This was the first conference loss for the Lumberjacks. Nicholls sits just ahead of them at 7-1 and Sam Houston remains undefeated at 7-0.
Key Plays
- Tobias Cameron hit his first three of the night to tie the game at nine early in the first half.
- Kolton Kohl made back-to-back baskets in the lane to give ACU a 17-15 lead.
- Mahki Morris caught the ball off an inbounds pass for a smooth jumper to put the Wildcats up 23-21 in the first half. It was the last field goal made by ACU in the first half. ACU would go 13-16 from the charity stripe to close out the half.
- ACU game out of the half and turned the ball over on four of their first seven possessions allowing SFA to go on a 6-0 run.
- Cameron stopped the bleeding in the second half with a driving layup for ACU's first bucket of the second half. He came back and hit a three two possessions later.
- A loose ball saw bodies from both teams hit the floor resulting in a held ball, but SFA's Solomon drew a technical foul giving ACU an opportunity to tie the game at the free throw line. Clay Gayman made the free throws to spark an 11-3 run.
- Kolton Kohl threw down a monster dunk off a feed from Damien Daniels to push the lead to 12 and SFA never cut the lead to fewer 10 the rest of the way.
Turning Point
After allowing the Lumberjacks to take a five-point lead early in the second half, the Wildcats responded with a 16-3 run to take an eight-point lead and then ran away with the game after that.

- Once again, Tobias Cameron made the most of his elevated role and came away with a career-high 14 points.
- After totaling just four offensive boards and two second chance points in the first half, the Wildcats grabbed 10 offensive boards for 15 second-chance points after the break.
- Kohl went for a season-high 20 points for his fourth-straight double-digit scoring effort.
- The Wildcats had six double-digit scorers on the night, their most in a single game this season. The previous high was four in a game.
- ACU went 24-29 at the free throw line for a season-high 83 percent mark.
- The Wildcats won the inside battle, outscoring SFA 38-36 in the paint.
- SFA's Cameron Johnson put up a solid double-double with 13 points and 15 boards.

ACU goes on the road for two tough games over the weekend. The Wildcats will first head to UIW where they needed overtime heroics to come away with a win last season and then they play a make-up game with A&M-Corpus Christi on Monday night. The game at UIW is slated for 6:30 p.m. on Saturday night.
