ACU STORYLINES

  • MADI MAGIC: Junior Madi Miller got a contested, acrobatic, clutch shot to fall with 0.8 seconds left on Saturday to beat Central Arkansas, 60-58. Miller got the ball with just under five seconds left and drove into the paint, maneuvered, and went under-handed off the glass for the buzzer-beater. It game ACU its 10th win of the season and got the Wildcats back in the winning column.
  • ADAMS ON FIRE: Senior Alyssa Adams is on another planet right now on both ends of the floor. The San Antonio native has scored 138 points in her last six games (23 PPG). • COOL, KAM, COLLECTED: Junior Kamryn Mraz went for a career-high 17 points on Saturday against UCA and hit a career-high four three-pointers as well. Her triples were huge especially in the third quarter to keep ACU clawing and scratching to a close victory. Mraz had a big free throw in the fourth quarter as well.
  • ROOKIE MOMENTS: Head coach Julie Goodenough has been able to turn to some key freshmen so far this season in big moments. Katie Horyna and Taylor Morgan have played crucial minutes, and played late minutes against Southeastern Louisiana too. Alice Stevenson has started each of the last two games and has made an impact. In fact, the Perkins, Okla. native has hit each of her last four three-pointers.
  • McLEOD NINE: Redshirt senior Anna McLeod continues to be a consistent threat for ACU. The Houston native is averaging 15.8 points per game, and shooting nearly 46% from the floor. McLeod hit a huge three in the fourth quarter against UCA to put ACU on top.
