Byron Robinson: Quickie Q&A

Q: How did it feel to be named team captain?
BR: It was an exciting feeling. I've overcome a lot of adversity since I've been at Abilene Christian, so to be named a team captain is a great honor. This is something that I can put my resume, whenever I apply for a job and or am asked to lead a team. I can always go back and say I was once a team captain, and led a group of men. Because one day, I want to be a head coach as well.

Right now, it's my job to lead by example, be the best person I can be on a daily basis, and make sure I hold people accountable to the team's goals and standards.

Q: What was your message to your teammates after UTEP?
BR:  My message was we have to always get better from week to week. We have to forget this loss by the next day, but also learn from it so we don't make the same mistakes against Army.

Q: What are you looking forward to against Army?
BR: The challenge of facing a new style of play that some of us have never seen. We basically just have to do our 1/11th, and focus in on our jobs. But as soon as you lose focus, it could lead to a big play or a score on their part.

Q: What's your scouting report on this year's Wildcat secondary?
BR: Our bond is a lot closer. I feel like we also know the playbook much better by being in this system for another year. Even though most of us didn't play as much last year we we're much confident in what we're doing.
