Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Wildcats put up season-best performance to dismantle Cards

ABILENE, Texas— Coming off a tough loss to Northwestern State, the Wildcats bounced back with a dominant home win over Lamar. Earlier in the season, the Wildcats traveled to Beaumont where they won by 12 points despite a poor offensive night from leading scorer, Payten Ricks. Ricks redeemed himself in a major way going 7-12 from three-point range for a career-high in made threes, and helping his team to a 30-plus point thrashing of the Cardinals.

Key Plays
  • The Wildcats started the game on a 10-0 run. The Cardinals answered with a bucket in the paint, but ACU then went on an 18-0 run to put the team up 28-2 early in the first half.
  • Payten Ricks hit four threes in the first half and helped the team to a 48-20 lead at the half.
  • Joe Pleasant hit back-to-back threes early in the half, during the Wildcats' 18-0 run.
