YOUNGSVILLE, La.—The Wildcats began the weekend with a big win over Detroit Mercy to open the Mardi Gras Mambo tournament. ACU went up 4-0 in the first inning and never looked back, they earned the five-inning run-rule win 9-0 over the Titans.
Katelyn Belch took a bases loaded walk to bring in the first run before
Calie Burris earned three RBIs on a bases clearing double. The Wildcats would put up one run in each of the next three innings to take a 7-0 lead into the fifth.
Briana Tijerina drove in two runs in the top of the fifth and ACU held the Titans scoreless in the bottom of the fifth to earn the 9-0 victory.

Alivia Sinnott earned her second win of the season throwing a solid five innings, facing 15 batters, and giving up just one hit and one walk on the day.

Briana Tijerina went 3-4 on the day with two doubles and three RBIs.

Lacy Johnson went 2-2 with a walk and three runs scored that helped the Wildcats keep innings going throughout the game.
- This is the Wildcats' first run-rule win of the season.
- Sinnott was efficient on the day throwing just 56 pitches compared to 111 pitches for Murphy of Detroit Mercy.

On Alivia's outing: "Alivia had a great game for us. She really controlled their hitters and gave us great balls to make outs on."
On the team's solid performance at the plate: "Bri had several great hits for us that were clutch. It was great to see our team attack early and take advantage of some miscues and mistakes they made."
On the overall team effort: "It was great to see the team execute in areas of the game that we really focused on this week at practice. Lacy had a great defensive grab for us and some excellent at bats to turn our lineup over."

ACU will continue play in the Mardi Gras Mambo tomorrow with two games on the slate. The Wildcats will first face Jacksonville State at 3 p.m. before following with a game against ULM at approximately 5 p.m.
