LUBBOCK— After going 1-2 on the weekend in the Wildcat Classic, ACU had a quick turnaround as they headed to face the Lady Raiders of Texas Tech on Monday evening. It was another tough test for the Wildcats as they faced their first, and only, Power 5 school on the season. ACU was able to keep pace with Texas Tech for most of the match, but fell in straight sets.
The Wildcats made great defensive plays throughout to keep themselves in points and fins ways to keep the set scores close. As they progressed throughout the match, the Red Raider offense operated more efficiently with each play, including hitting .342 as a team in set two. Errors were an issue for the Wildcats as they struggled to put the ball down late and hit for a negative percentage in the third and final set.
Mackenzie Harris had several impressive digs as she totaled 10 of her 16 digs in the first set alone.
Lindsey Toney was close to another double-double on the season as she led the team with nine kills as well as adding eight digs.
Marybeth Sandercox added seven kills for ACU and had yet another efficient offensive night, hitting .429, her third-best percentage on the season.
