NATCHITOCHES, La.— Abilene Christian headed back on the road for a weekend swing to Northwestern State and Central Arkansas, with the first stop to face the Lady Demons of NSU. Thursday night set the scene for the Wildcats to face the second-place Lady Demons, in hopes of handing them their second conference loss of the season. ACU put up a tough fight, but NSU was powered by a dominant performance from Hannah Brister as the Wildcats fell in straight sets.
The Wildcats kept the first set close, limiting their errors, but fell 25-20. The next two sets were all Northwestern State as they used the offensive success of Brister and Darria Williams to power to back-to-back 25-14 wins.
Lindsey Toney led the Wildcats with eight kills and nine digs on the night. Both
Lorin McNeil and
Kennedy Shelstead found success in the middle with six and seven kills, respectively.
