The Wildcats are off to a 12-6 start and have won five of their first seven Southland Conference games, but were stymied defensively by Stephen F. Austin over the final 10 minutes of Wednesday's game after taking a one-point lead at the third-quarter buzzer. SFA remains undefeated vs. the league at 6-0; however, the Sugar Bears are off to a very uncharacteristic start at 7-10 (2-5 vs. the Southland).
UCA lost its first four league games, but in recent days have knocked off both UIW (74-43) and New Orleans (62-60).
The Sugar Bears won all three games vs. the Wildcats last season, including the second round of the Southland Conference Championship, and lead the all-time series, 6-2. ACU last defeated UCA at Moody, 83-76, during the start of the 2017 conference season en route to winning their second consecutive regular-season title.
