Thursday Night's Game
The Wildcats hit the road for the first time in 2018-19 Thursday night when they take on the University of Denver in a non-conference game at the Magness Arena. … The Wildcats are 2-0 on the season and are looking for their first 3-0 start since moving up to NCAA Division I affiliation prior to the 2013-14 season. … ACU hasn't started 3-0 to a season since its final season at the NCAA Division II level (2012-13). … A win Thursday night would not only give ACU a 3-0 start to the season, it would also give the Wildcats consecutive wins over non-conference Division I opponents for only the second time in ACU's five-plus seasons at the Division I level. … The only other time ACU has recorded consecutive wins over non-conference Division I teams came last season when ACU beat Bowling Green (88-83 on Nov. 26 in Buies Creek, N.C.), followed by wins over Air Force (62-58 on Dec. 6 in Colorado Springs, Colo.), and Texas State (72-68 on Dec. 9 in Abilene). … The Wildcats began their Division I existence with 18 straight true road losses in non-conference Division I games. Since then, however, the Wildcats are 4-7 in those games over the last two seasons with wins at New Hampshire, Charleston Southern, Campbell and Air Force to go along with narrow losses at Oklahoma, New Mexico, Sacramento State and Lipscomb.
