ABILENE, Texas - Texas Arlington put a couple crooked numbers on the scoreboard Wednesday night en route to defeating Abilene Christian softball, 14-0, at Poly Wells Field.
The Mavs scored four times in the third to break a scoreless tie and later sent 14 batters to the plate in scoring 10 times in the fifth against starter

Julia Montoya. The key hits that frame included a bases-clearing double by Nina Villanueva and a follow-up two-run home run by clean-up batter Meagan Michele.
Villanueva and Michele combined to go 6-for-7 with six runs and seven RBI, while starting pitcher Sam Montes evened her season record at 8-8 by scattering six hits with two strikeouts.
ACU finished with six hits, all of which were singles. Leadoff batter
Taylor Brown went 2-of-3 and tried to score a run in the third inning, but was thrown out at home by the Mavs' centerfielder.
Holly Neese was 2-for-2, while
Peyton Hedrick and
Brianna Barnhill each went 1-for-2.
The Wildcats return to action Friday for the start of a three-game series vs. first-place McNeese State. ACU and the Cowgirls will play a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m. Friday and have a single game Saturday at noon.
