ABILENE – The Wildcats had five players score in double figures and kept their personal foul (6) and turnover (7) totals in the single digits during a 96-35 drubbing of Missouri Valley College Friday afternoon at Moody Coliseum.
The win gave ACU a 3-0 homestand and 4-1 overall record while the NAIA Vikings slipped to 3-2.
The Wildcats led this one from start to finish. They shot better than 50 percent (18-35) in the first half in taking a 49-24 lead into the break, and then in the second half with a majority of their starters resting, the Wildcats' defense nearly held MVC to single digits in the second half if not for a 3-pointer by Savannah Enlow with 40 seconds left.
ACU outscored the Vikings 47-11 in the second half with Enlow's trey serving as their only field goal of the fourth quarter.
Senior Whitney (West) Swinford led all Wildcats in scoring with 14 points as she went 4-of-9 from 3-point range, and right behind her were reserves
Sierra Allen (13) and
McKenzie Martin (12). Allen missed only one of her five field-goal attempts and pulled down seven of ACU's 53 rebounds, while Martin hit double figures for the second-straight game thanks to a pair of treys on 4-of-8 shooting.
Starter

Alexis Mason knocked down a trio of 3-pointers to finish with 11.
Freshman

All 11 Wildcats scored at least two points this afternoon, and all but two were credited with a rebound. The Wildcats' 23 assists also came from all over the floor as nine players recorded at least one.
For the game, MVC was limited to 25 percent shooting (14-56) with the Vikings missing 23 of their 27 attempts in the second half – 10 of which were from 3-point range.
Fifteen players appeared on the court today for the Vikings and were led in scoring by Julia Vasquez' nine points. No player had more than four rebounds, however, as MVC finished with only 28.
