SAN MARCOS, Texas - Abilene Christian's volleyball team endured back-to-back losses Saturday at the Delta Zeta Classic hosted by Texas State.
The Wildcats first lost to North Texas in three, 25-20, 25-19 and 25-19, and were then swept by the host Bobcats, 25-21, 26-24 and 25-18.
ACU was outhit by the opposition through both matces, .208 to .139, but did receive 14 kills each from sophomore
Lexi Mercier (.452) and freshman
Stephanie Schoelman (.111) and 21 from junior
Jennifer Loerch (.105). Mercier today also got her hands on seven blocks, while Loerch and freshman
Corinne Grandcolas each had three.

Madison Hoover dug out the most attacks with a 5.33 two-match average and junior setter
Sarah Siemens provided 7.0 assists per set.
North Texas improved to 5-1 with this morning's victory and was led offensively by the trio of Hanna Forst (13 kills), Holly Milam (11 kilss) and Eboni Godfrey (10 kills). Alex Bollier scored all three of her points on a service ace.
Texas State went a match over .500 at 4-3 with this afternoon's win thanks to Kelsey Weynand's 15 kills and .379 hitting percentage. The Bobcats also recorded 8.0 blocks to ACU's 7.0 and had four players with 10 or more digs.
The Wildcats return to action next weekend for a two-day tournament hosted by North Texas, where ACU will have a Friday night rematch vs. the Mean Green followed by Saturday matches vs. Utah Valley and Jackson State.
