SAN ANTONIO – For the fifth time this season, the ACU Wildcats will appear on either a national or regional media broadcast when they take on Incarnate Word in Southland Conference men's basketball action at the McDermott Center on the UIW campus.
The Wildcats are 8-16 overall and 2-8 in the Southland Conference, while the Cardinals are 18-5 and 6-4. The men are set to tipoff at 8 p.m. in a game that will be broadcast nationally on ESPN3. The game will also be broadcast locally on radio on 98.1 FM The Ticket.
Thursday night's game marks ACU's fifth appearance on a national or regional media platform (at Maryland on Fox Sports South, at TCU on Fox Sports Southwest Plus, at Xavier on Fox Sports 1, and vs. Sam Houston State on ESPN3). This is the Wildcats' second appearance of the season on ESPN3, following their game vs. the Bearkats from Moody Coliseum in Abilene on Jan. 25.
The Wildcats are 0-11 in true road games this season (2-1 in neutral-site games). The Wildcats' last true road win came on Feb. 27, 2013, when they beat Incarnate Word, 82-68, in San Antonio.
ACU split a pair of Southland Conference games last weekend, knocking off Houston Baptist, 87-81, before dropping a 71-69 heartbreaker to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday. In

Parker Wentz set a career-high with 27 points to lead the Wildcats. In that game, Wentz missed just four of his 22 shots (8 of 11 from the field and 10 of 11 from the free throw line) to go along with five assists and three steals.
Wentz ranks among Southland Conference leaders Southland leaders in 3-point field goals made (first with 56), 3-point field goal attempts (second with 130), 3-point field goal percentage (fourth at .431), steals (tied for 11th with 32) and steals per game (tied for 15th at 1.3). Nationally, Wentz is tied for 108th in NCAA Division I basketball with those 56 3-pointers, and he is 21st in Division I basketball in 3-point field goal percentage (.431).
For his career, Wentz is 104 for 253 from beyond the arc for a .411 career 3-point field goal percentage. Wentz is seventh on ACU's all-time list for 3-point field goals made, 11th on the list for attempts and second in career percentage. His .431 percentage this season is currently the sixth-best single-season 3-point field goal percentage in ACU history. Also in Saturday's game, Wentz surpassed 500 career points (505 going into Thursday night's game).
ACU is one of the top 3-point shooting teams in the Southland Conference, ranking second in makes (165), fifth in attempts (444) and fourth in percentage (.372). The Wildcats are the league's best team in defending the 3-point, allowing a league-low .326 shooting percentage (129 of 396) from beyond the arc.
