ACU, Ichabods set to tangle

Gameday Central

TOPEKA, Kan. – The sixth-ranked ACU Wildcats will open the 2010 season Saturday with a top-10 battle against Washburn at Yager Stadium.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.  ACU's radio broadcast will get started with the pre-game show at 5:30 p.m. on Mix 92.5 FM.  Fans outside the Abilene area can listen to the game on ACU's Web site by subscribing to ACU Wildcat All-Access.

The Wildcats enter their season-opener at No. 6 in the latest American Football Coaches' Association poll and coming off a 9-4 campaign in 2009, their fourth straight NCAA Division II playoff berth.  Washburn, meanwhile, enters the game at No. 9 in the country and coming off a 34-29 road win last Saturday over Colorado School of Mines.

After Saturday's season-opener in Topeka, Kan., the Wildcats will be back on the road for their second game, Sept. 11, in Tahlequah, Okla., against Northeastern State.
