ABILENE -- The ACU Wildcats will play a non-conference baseball tripleheader on Tuesday at Crutcher Scott Field when they host a pair of NCAA Division III teams.
The Wildcats will play Marietta College at 1 p.m., followed by a pair of seven inning games against the University of the Southwest beginning at 5:30 p.m.
The Wildcats are 18-5 on the season after sweeping a four-game Lone Star Conference South Division series from West Texas A&M. ACU is now ranked No. 5 in the nation, according to the
Collegiate Baseball magazine poll, which was released Monday.
Marietta College is 3-0 on the season and has won four NCAA Division III national championships, including in 2006. The Mustangs from the University of the Southwest enter the doubleheader at 13-11.
After the tripleheader on Tuesday, the Wildcats will return to Lone Star Conference action Saturday and Sunday with a four-game series at East Central in Ada, Okla. The Wildcats and Tigers will play at 1 p.m. Saturday, follwed by a noon doubleheader on Sunday.
