Volleyball finishes perfect in LSC South

Wildcats finish regular season at 27-3 with 3-0 win over ENMU

ACU to play host to LSC tournament Thursday

The ACU Wildcat Volleyball team rolled over ENMU 3-0 (30-24, 30-24, 30-19) Saturday in Portales, N.M. The No. 11 Wildcats finished the regular season with a 27-match win streak entering the Lone Star Conference tournament which begins Thursday.

ACU will play host for the tournament at Moody Coliseum and is slated to play its first game in the semi-finals round on Friday at 6 p.m. earning a first-round bye after clinching its second-straight LSC South Division title in Thursday's 3-2 win over West Texas A&M.

The win over the Zias Saturday put the Wildcats at a flawless 10-0 in the South marking the first time in school history that the team finished undefeated.

Friday's match can be heard on KYYW 1470 AM and via the internet on TEAMLINE; assuming that the Wildcats advance to the finals, the championship game will also be on the air Saturday at 7 p.m.

ACU is likely headed to the NCAA Division II regional tournament that begins Nov. 17 at a location to be determined. Nebraska-Kearney is currently ranked No. 1 in both the region and the nation giving them the upper hand as a possible host. The Wildcats are ranked No. 3 in the region.
