ACU opens season at ACU Classic
Region's fourth-ranked squad hosts meet at Sherrod Park
ABILENE -- The ACU men's and women's teams will begin the 2002 cross country season Friday evening when they host eight other teams at the ACU Classic at the Sherrod Park course.
Joining ACU at the meet will be Angelo State, Ranger College, South Plains College, Tarleton State, West Texas A&M, Wayland Baptist, Incarnate Word and Northwood. The women's portion of the meet will begin at 6 p.m. with a 3-mile race, followed by the men's 4-mile race at 6:30 p.m.
The ACU men are ranked No. 1 in the South Central region and No. 2 in the nation by the Division II Cross Country Coaches Association, while the ACU women are ranked No. 4 in the region.
