ABILENE -- ACU will complete more than three weeks of spring training
drills Saturday morning with the annual Purple-White football game.
The game will start at 9:45 a.m. at Shotwell Stadium.
Two players who will not be playing in the game are offensive lineman
Britt Lively and defensive back Steven Riddley. Both players suffered knee
injuries during practice and have been kept out of drills recently.
Lively's knee injury has been diagnosed as a sprain and he will not need
surgery and should be ready to go when summer drills begin in August. Riddley's
injury will be further diagnosed next week.
ACU will open the 2002
season on Sept. 7 when it hosts Central Arkansas at Shotwell Stadium.
