ACU takes 2-0 mark to Oklahoma

ACU looks to stay unbeaten

Wildcats take on 3-0 Panhandle State

GOODWELL, Okla. -- The 2-0 ACU Wildcats will take that undefeated mark north on Saturday where they will take on the undefeated Aggies of Oklahoma Panhandle State in a non conference game.

Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Aggie Gym.

ACU improved to 2-0 Tuesday with an impressive 120-78 road win over St. Edward's, which beat the Wildcats twice last season.  The Wildcats were led by hot-shooting junior guard Rodney Lee, who had 38 points on 12 of 21 shooting, including 7 of 9 from 3-point range.

Lee, who had 17 points last Friday in a season-opening win over Howard Payne, is averaging 27.5 points per game to lead the Wildcats.  Junior forward Tucker Pierson is averaging 19.0 ppg (18 points, 9 rebounds vs. St. Edward's), and sophomore forward Jeff Johnson is averaging 15.0 ppg (13 points, 2 rebounds vs. St. Edward's).

The Wildcats' 120 points were the most they had ever scored in a road game and were the most points scored by an ACU men's basketball team since a 123-57 win over East Texas Baptist in December 1997.

The Aggies are 3-0 after Tuesday's 75-70 road win over Eastern New Mexico.  Panhandle State, which split with ACU last year but eventually forfeited its win for using an ineligible player, also has a 67-65 win over Lubbock Christian and an 85-78 win over Southwest Baptist (Mo.).

Guard Joe Bakhoum is averaging 14 points per game, while guard Kenneth Barrett is averaging 17 points per game.  Barrett had 30 in the win over Southwest Baptist and Bakhoum 20 in the win over Lubbock Christian.
