A permanent endowment is established for the Wildcat golf program when a tribute dinner to golfing legend Byron Nelson raises more than $400000 for ACU. Nelson ? who won a record 11 straight tournaments in "The Greatest Year in Golf" in, 1945 ? is a longtime friend of the golf program and a former member of the Board of Trustees. The master of ceremonies is CBS announcer Verne Lundquist and tribute speakers include Tom Landry and Tom Watson.
