PHILADELPHIA -- ACU senior Amanda Ouedraogo, the nation's leader in the triple jump, won the event over the weekend at the Penn Relays Carnival at historic Franklin Field.
Ouedraogo's winning effort capped a solid weekend for the men's and women's teams as
Nick Jones posted a pair of top-five finishes in the discus and shot put and Levance Williams finished sixth in the men's long jump.
Ouedraogo posted a mark of 41 feet, 6.50 inches to top Kelcey McKinney of Ohio State (40-5) to win the triple jump championship at the Penn Relays.
Jones -- the nation's leader in both the shot put and discus -- had another solid weekend throwing in the cool weather in Philadelphia.
He finished second in the discus at 185-0 behind Kentucky's Andrew Evans, who won the event with a mark of 185-6. Jones then finished fifth in the shot put at 62-3.50, three feet behind the event-winning mark of 65-5 posted by Joe Kovacs of Penn State.
Williams finished sixth in the long jump with a windy mark of 24-6.50. Marquise Goodwin of the University of Texas won the event for the second straight year with a jump of 25-9.50.
In other events, the ACU men's 4x100 relay team of Dennis Bain, Paris Robertson, Levance Williams and Jordan Geary was 25th in 41.47, while the 4x400 relay team of Bain, Geary, Osei Allyene-Forte and Banjo Jaiyesimias 43rd in 3:21.11. the men's sprint medley relay team of Robertson, Geary, Allyene-Forge and Jaiyesimi was 14th in 3:28.08.
On the women's side, the Wildcats' sprint medley relay team of Shennae Steele, Karolyn Palmer, Karla Hope and Ayesha Rumble finished 21st in 4:04.00. The 4x400 relay team of Lexus Williams, Steele, Rumble and Hope was 41st in 3:48.18.
