Jared Mosley is in his fifth year as the director of athletics after serving the previous two years as the associate director of athletics for operations. Mosley is the seventh director of athletics in the history of ACU athletics.
Mosley is responsible for the athletics budget, fundraising, facilities oversight, student-athlete development, athletics events, marketing and special projects.
During Mosley's tenure as the director of athletics, the Wildcats have won six NCAA Division II national titles, including the 2006 men's cross country national title, the first cross country national championship in school history.
Under Mosley's leadership ACU has continued to build on its athletic tradition and continues to be one of the most successful programs in all of NCAA Division II. In 2006-07 the Wildcats finished 3rd in the United States Sports Academy Director's Cup Division II standings, which recognizes overall athletic success. The Wildcats tallied 761.75 points, the most every by the Wildcats since the Director's Cup was established 12 years ago.
Marketing and increasing the visibility of ACU Athletics has been another focus during Mosley's tenure. The Wildcats launched a new Web site (www.acusports.com) in August 2006 to capitalize on technology advancements and the opportunity to keep fans, alumni, donors and prospects more engaged through a more interactive Web experience.
ACU now offers web streaming of athletic contests, online camp/event registration, e-mail subscription updates and will offer online athletic merchandise beginning Fall 2007. ACU also benefited from its televised football game against West Texas A&M in 2006 that was broadcast nationally on CSTV.
Other facility renovations and expansions have been completed or are underway on campus and will add to the already phenomenal facilities on campus, providing a great benefit when recruiting student-athletes to the ACU campus.
Mosley is one of the most highly decorated basketball players in ACU history. He finished his career in 1999 as the 11th-leading scorer and eighth-leading rebounder in school history, and in his senior season (1998-99) he led the Wildcats to the NCAA Division II South Central Region championship game.
Mosley earned several honors during his senior season, including first team GTE academic all-America, first team NCAA all-South Central Region by the NABC, second team all-region by Daktronics-CoSIDA, Lone Star Conference South Division MVP and first team academic all-LSC. He was also awarded a $5,000 NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship.
Mosley, who graduated with a 3.88 GPA, also was a three-time academic all-LSC pick, two-time all-LSC first team selection and all-tournament selection at the 1999 NCAA II region tournament.
Mosley currently serves on the NCAA Division II National Tennis Committee and is on the National Association for Collegiate Directors of Athletics Executive Committee.
