Wildcats Travel to TCU, Tarleton This Week

ABILENE – Abilene Christian has a four-game slate on the docket this week, including a trip to fifth-ranked TCU and the opening series of the Western Athletic Conference season.
 
ACU plays at Texas Christian at 6:05 p.m. on Tuesday and starts a three-game series at Tarleton State on Friday. The WAC series in Stephenville includes start times of 6 p.m. on Friday, 3 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
 
The Wildcats are 8-5 this season after dropping two of three at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi over the weekend.
 
ACU is hitting .282 as a team with eight home runs in 13 games. Miller Ladusau leads the team with his .400 batting average and is third with 11 RBIs. Gino D'Alessio is batting .340 with three home runs and a team-leading 18 RBIs.
 
The Wildcat pitching staff sports a 4.99 earned run average. Starters Brett Lanman, Austin Glaze and Iain Campa have had a strong start. Lanman has a 2.08 ERA with 19 strikeouts in 13 innings. Glaze is 2-0 with a 2.25 ERA and 16 strikeouts in as many innings of work. Campa is 2-1 with a 3.86 earned run average and 17 strikeouts in 14 innings.
 
TCU won its 12th consecutive game on Sunday and stands at 12-0. The Frogs swept a three-game series with No. 20 UCLA and took two games from Southern California.
 
The Horned Frogs are hitting .336 as a team, led by Logan Maxwell and .421 and Sam Myers at .419. Karson Bower leads TCU with 16 RBIs through 12 games.
 
The TCU pitching staff has a 5.15 earned run average and 144 strikeouts in 110 innings. Reliever Zachary Cawyer is 4-0 with a 2.19 earned run average and 15 strikeouts over 12.1 innings.
 
Tarleton State is 9-4 this season after splitting a four-game set at Central Arkansas.
 
The Texans are batting .291 as a team with nine home runs. Cole Miears leads TSU with a .378 batting average with 14 RBIs. Brandon Howell leads the team with four home runs and has 13 runs batted in.
 
Tarleton State carries a 5.44 team earned run average into the week. Their top four starting pitchers are Matt Haley (4.02 ERA), Piercen McElyea (4.50 ERA), Braydon Risley (4.61 ERA) and Devon Patel (2-0, 2.25 ERA). Reliever Grant Garza is 3-0 with a 1.93 earned run average.
