ACU Picks up 5 Academic Awards

RICHARDSON – Five Wildcats were honored by the Lone Star Conference on Thursday for their effort on the court and in the classroom.
On the men's side Bryan Joiner was named to the LSC Men's all-Academic team for the second consecutive season.
Cody McCarty and Karl Bein both were named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll. McCarty and Bein saw action for the top ranked Wildcats in ten games throughout the season.
On the women's side Natalie Friend and Lauren White picked up honors. Friend was named to the LSC Women's all-Academic team after being on the Commissioner's Honor Roll last season.

To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.30 grade point average and have reached sophomore status both athletically and academically. The Academic Player of Year award and All-Academic Team are selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the league's sports information directors voting on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement. All qualifying student-athletes not selected for the All-Academic Team are then named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll.
