Wildcats set to take on Temple
ACU men, women return home for dual match
ABILENE -- The nationally ranked ACU men's and women's tennis teams will each return to action Saturday at 10 a.m. when they host Temple College in a dual match at the Eager Tennis Pavilion on the ACU campus.
The ACU women are 16-3 on the season and ranked 14th in the latest NCAA Division II national rankings, according to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. The Wildcats won all five of their matches last weekend on a lengthy road trip that saw ACU play in Edinburg, Austin and New Braunfels.
The Wildcats, in fact, won 44 of 45 possible games in those five matches with the only loss coming in an 8-1 win over Texas-Pan American. ACU beat Laredo College, Texas Southern,St. Edward's and Cameron by 9-0 scores. ACU, which has won seven straight matches entering Saturday's match against Temple College, is led by Colleen Reynolds and Rachel Taylor, ranked No. 22 and No. 28, respectively, in the nation in singles.
On the men's side, ACU is 16-5 and ranked No. 24 in the nation, according to the ITA. ACU won five of six matches last weekend, losing only to Texas A&M.
