Compliance with NCAA rules is of the highest priority for our athletics program and institution. As a member of the NCAA and LSC, Abilene Christian University is responsible for the actions of its coaches, student-athletes, faculty and staff, fans, boosters, alumni, and friends. We value your interest and support, but we must remind you that an inappropriate action on your part can jeopardize the eligibility of a student-athlete, prospect and/or the compliance of the University with Lone Star Conference and NCAA regulations.

We are committed to the principle of institutional control and operating our athletics programin a manner consistent with the letter and spirit of the NCAA, LSC, and Abilene Christian University regulations. Abilene Christian University Athletics Department Mission Statement

The mission of Abilene Christian University is to educate students for Christian service and leadership throughout the world.  The athletic department of the university assists in this mission by recruiting outstanding student-athletes, by employing dedicated Christian coachesand professional staff who embrace the values of student-athletes, by employing dedicated    Christian coaches and professional staff who embrace the values of ACU, and providing sportsevents around which alumni, friends and students can rally.

The Athletic Department will have spiritual emphasis.

• The coaches and professional staff will be active Christians who serve as mentors.
• The student-athletes will have spiritual goals compatible with those of the university.
•Christian principles will be deliberately and systematically incorporated into all activities.

The Athletic Department will endorse and emphasize the academic mission of the university.
• Prospective student-athlete will be screened for inclination and aptitude for collegiate work.
• The academic progress of student-athletes will be monitored.
• Time allocations will be determined with academic priorities in mind.
• Academic excellence by student-athletes will be rewarded.

The Athletic Department will recruit student-athletes who can compete successfully at the national  level of NCAA Division II.
• Student-athletes will be physically, mentally, and emotionally skillful.
• Practice regimens will produce opportunities for growth and development.
• Game competition will provide opportunities to measure the efforts of our staff and student-athletes.

The Athletic Department will encourage participation and involvement by students, alumni and friends of the university.
• Special programs and promotions will be developed to encourage the relationship between student-athletes and students.
• The athletic department will sponsor events to promote alumni participation.
• Non-scholarship student-athletes will be encouraged to participate.
• The athletic department will cooperate with the Students' Association, Office of Student Services, the Alumni Association, the Department of Music, and the Development Office in promoting special events.

The Athletic Department will comply with all Abilene Christian University, Lone Star Conference and NCAA regulations.
• Athletic staff members and student-athletes will be educated on ACU, LSC and NCAA regulations.
• Personnel both inside and outside the athletic department will monitor compliance.
