DURANT, Okla. – Lone Star Conference honors were handed out Friday night and Shawna Barrow and Missy Mendoza earned all-LSC Second Team honors announced by league officials.
Barrow, a transfer from Palomar College, spent her first season at ACU burning up the base paths on her way to setting the single season and all-time stolen base record for the Wildcats. Barrow swiped 45 bases on 48 attempts as she led the LSC and was among the national leaders in that category. She also hit .375 leading ACU with 69 hits starting in every game this season.
Mendoza led ACU in hitting and on base percentage at a .380 clip and on base .416 in her first season with the Wildcats. Starting nearly every game in the outfield she also led the Wildcats with 32 RBIs.
ACU also had outstanding effort in the classroom as three Wildcats were named to the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll. Seniors Caitlin Nabors, Nancy Sawyers and junior Kim White earned academic honors for ACU. The honor was the third consecutive honor for Sawyers and second for White as Nabors earned her first.
