Wildcats to play for LSC title

OKLAHOMA CITY -- The seventh-ranked ACU Wildcats had little trouble advancing to another Lone Star Conference women's tennis tournament championship match on Friday as they swept a pair of opponents at the Oklahoma City Tennis Center.

The Wildcats (24-7) will try to win their third straight LSC women's tennis championship Saturday morning when they take on No. 2 seed Northeastern State. The Wildcats already own a 7-2 win over Northeastern State earlier this season, part of their 7-0 LSC regular-season title run.

ACU had little trouble with either of its oppponents on the first day of the tournament, beating Southeastern Oklahoma State 5-0 before whipping Central Oklahoma 5-0 in the semifinals.

The Wildcats' No. 1 doubles tandem of Jaclyn Walker and Julia Mongin won two easy matches, beating both Amber Thompson and Camilla Goncalves fo Southeastern Oklahoma State and Lacy Caldwell and Virginia Rodriguez of Central Oklahoma by identical 8-0 scores.
