Walker Tabbed Player of Year

RICHARDSON – Jaclyn Walker was named Lone Star Conference Player of the Year on Thursday as annual tennis awards were announced by league officials. Julia Mongin also picked up all-LSC honors in both singles and doubles for ACU.
Walker is 16-6 on the season while posting a perfect 5-0 record in conference play. She has played all her singles matches at No. 1 with the exception of 5 matches at No. 2 where she is 4-1. Walker also earned all-LSC honors in singles and doubles after picking up all-LSC honors in doubles a year ago.
Mongin was honored in both singles and doubles for the first time. She was 23-3 in doubles action and undefeated in conference doubles. In singles Mongin was also 19-4 and 4-0 in LSC play as she was mostly No. 2 in singles.
Three ACU players also earned all-LSC Honorable Mention honors. Senior Dina Pavlin, sophomore Cassie Carver and freshmen Hannah Kelly were all voted LSC Honorable Mention.
The Wildcats are the No. 1 team in the South Central Region as they head to Oklahoma City for the LSC Championships April 23 and 24. ACU has earned the top seed and will be in search of their 22nd Conference Title and third straight.
