The Wildcats have added NCAA Division I transfers in Stephen F. Austin guard Preston Davis and New Hampshire power forward Abby Kabba, as well as junior college transfer Eddie Thompson (Paris JC).
Davis is a point guard who will contend for the starting spot alongside returning starter Riley Lambert and redshirt junior Dustin Heiman. Thompson will contend for the starting job at the shooting guard spot. Kabba will see time on the Wildcats' front line, which lost all three starters in Cam Holson, Dejan Sencanski and Marko Nikolic.
Last season, Davis averaged 1.1 points and 0.2 rebounds per game in 13 appearances last year for the Lumberjacks. As a freshman in 2007-08, Davis averaged 1.5 points and 0.5 rebounds per game in 22 contests.
"Preston is a combo guard who can really, really shoot the basketball," Copeland said. "He's got good size and build and a good understanding of how to play the game."
Thompson helped Paris to a 23-5 record in 2008-09 and a runner-up finish to Navarro College in the Region XIV Tournament. He averaged 7.0 points and 1.6 rebounds per game for the Dragons.
"Eddie is an excellent shooter, and he's a guy who doesn't make mistakes," Copeland said. "He played at Midland College (2007-08) and Paris, and each team won more than 20 games, so he understands what it takes to win games."
As a freshman at New Hampshire, Kabba averaged 2.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in just nine appearances for the Wildcats in 2008-09.
"Abby is an undersized post with a great motor," Copeland said. "He plays extremely hard on both ends of the floor."
