6 Wildcats earn all-LSC honors

CANYON -- Abilene Christian landed a league-best six players on the all-Lone Star Conference volleyball team, which was announced by league officials Wednesday night during a banquet at the LSC Post-Season Tournament.
Two of the Wildcats' players were voted first team all-LSC, including junior middle blocker Shawna Hines who was also voted the league's Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season. Hines leads the nation in total blocks and blocks per set, pacing an ACU team that leads the nation in blocks per set.
ACU's other first team selection was junior setter Ijeoma Moronu, who ranks in the top 35 in the nation in total assists and in the top 15 in the nation in assists per set.
Aside from the Wildcats' two first-team selections, the Wildcats had two second-team selections in junior outside hitter Jordan Schilling and sophomore outside hitter Jennie Hutt. The Wildcats' honorable mention picks were senior middle blocker Lauren Leone and senior rightside hitter Michelle Bacon.
The Wildcats get their run in the LSC Post-Season Tournament underway Thursday at 2:30 p.m. when they take on Texas A&M-Kingsville.
